AI consulting for payments and fintech
Payments and fintech businesses carry a compliance workload that grows with every customer. Analysts collect identity documents, company extracts and beneficial owner details by hand before an account opens. The transaction monitoring system raises alerts, and an analyst works each one by pulling the customer history from several systems. Disputes and chargebacks run against card scheme deadlines while the evidence sits in transaction logs, emails and support tickets.

We build beside the software you already run
We build for payment providers, merchant acquirers, remittance and digital currency exchange providers, and buy now pay later and other fintech lenders. What we build gathers the records and drafts the case file. An analyst or compliance officer makes the decision on every alert, onboarding file and suspicious matter report. The model runs on your own servers or in an Australian cloud region, and customer and transaction data stays inside the business.

The hours in payments go to work that repeats
- 01
Customer and merchant onboarding
Identity documents, ASIC extracts, trust deeds and beneficial owner details collected and checked by hand, with files sent back for missing items.
- 02
Transaction monitoring alerts
Each alert worked by pulling the customer profile, past alerts and transaction history from separate systems before anyone can decide on it.
- 03
Disputes and chargebacks
Transaction records, delivery proof and customer messages gathered into an evidence pack for each dispute, inside the card scheme deadline.
- 04
AUSTRAC reporting
Suspicious matter report narratives written from case notes, and international funds transfer instruction reports checked before they are lodged.
Services
All seven services →We take these jobs off your team
Customer onboarding
Identity documents, company records and beneficial owner details read into one file, with the missing items listed for the analyst who approves the customer.
Merchant onboarding
Merchant applications checked against the ABN register, the merchant website and your risk policy, with a draft risk rating for the underwriter to accept or change.
Alert triage
Each transaction monitoring alert arrives with the customer history, past alerts and related transactions in one case summary. The analyst closes it or escalates it.
Suspicious matter reports
The report narrative drafted from the case file in the fields AUSTRAC asks for. The compliance officer decides whether to report and lodges it.
Disputes and chargebacks
Evidence packs built from transaction logs, delivery records and customer messages and set out for the reason code on the dispute. A person checks and submits each one.
Compliance documents
Your AML/CTF program, AUSTRAC guidance, scheme rules and past case files made searchable on your own servers, with each answer citing its document.
- Ask what your program says about a customer who has no standard ID and get the clause rather than a list of files.
- The analyst sees the source document beside every answer and can check it before acting on it.
- Scheme rules and acquirer agreements indexed beside your own procedures, with the version and date of each one shown.
- A private model on your own servers or in an Australian cloud region. The documents it reads stay inside the business.

Suspicious matter reports
A suspicious matter report goes to AUSTRAC within 24 hours of forming a suspicion that relates to terrorism financing. For any other suspicion the deadline is 3 business days after the day it formed. A report that a system generates must name the person accountable for completing and submitting it. Sharing the details of a report is a criminal offence if it could reasonably prejudice an investigation.

AML/CTF reforms
Parliament passed the AML/CTF Amendment Bill 2024 on 29 November 2024. Changes to AML/CTF programs, customer due diligence and value transfer obligations started on 31 March 2026 for businesses that AUSTRAC already regulated, unless the transitional rules defer them. Certain virtual asset services beyond digital to fiat currency exchange came under AUSTRAC regulation from 1 July 2026.

Transitional rules
A business enrolled with AUSTRAC on 30 March 2026 can use its existing customer identification procedures for initial due diligence until 31 March 2029. It had to list the customer classes and the end date for each by 1 July 2026. The new ongoing due diligence rules apply to every customer from 31 March 2026. International funds transfer instruction reports continue until 31 March 2029, or a substitute date no later than 30 September 2029.

Buy now pay later licensing
Buy now pay later contracts now fall under the National Credit Code. From 10 June 2025, anyone who engages in credit activities involving them must hold an Australian credit licence. A provider of a contract that meets the definition of a low cost credit contract can elect to comply with modified responsible lending obligations. A contract outside that definition is regulated in the same way as any other credit contract.

ePayments Code
The ePayments Code is a voluntary code that ASIC administers. Banks, credit unions, building societies and other providers of electronic payment facilities to consumers subscribe to it. Within 21 days of a report of an unauthorised transaction, a subscriber completes the investigation or tells the user in writing that it needs more time. It completes the investigation within 45 days unless there are exceptional circumstances.
Questions
Where do our customer data and the model sit?
On your own servers or in an Australian cloud region that you control. We run the model inside your environment, and no customer or transaction data is sent to a public AI service. Staff see through the system only what their existing permissions already let them see.
How does this fit our AML/CTF obligations?
We build to the policies and escalation steps that your AML/CTF program already sets out. The system gathers records and drafts case summaries and report narratives. An analyst or your compliance officer forms any suspicion, makes every decision on an alert and lodges every report with AUSTRAC. The program and the responsibility for it stay with your business.
Does this replace our transaction monitoring system?
No. Your monitoring system keeps raising alerts on the rules and scenarios you set. What we build reads each alert, pulls the customer and transaction history into one case summary and puts it in front of the analyst.
